Brian Altounian Resigns from Cereplast's Board of Directors

HAWTHORNE, Calif., January 23, 2008 - Cereplast, Inc. (OTCBB: CERP), manufacturer of proprietary bio-based, sustainable plastics, today announced that Brian Altounian has resigned from his position as a member of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Audit Committee, effective immediately.  Mr. Altounian informed the Board that his resignation would allow him to better pursue other business endeavors, at Platinum Studios where he serves as the president and COO. He expressed his confidence in the continued success of Cereplast.

 

“We want to than Brian for his valuable contribution to the board during the past two years,” said Frederic Scheer, CEO and president of Cereplast. “We wish him well in his future undertakings at Platinum Studios."

 

Cereplast’s Board will now be comprised of three members, Frederic Scheer, Chairman and CEO of Cereplast and two independent Directors, Jacques Vincent, vice chairman and advisor to the chairman of Groupe Danone, and Petros Kitsos, managing principal of TBL Strategy.
