CEREPLAST EXPANDS R&D CAPABLITITES WITH HIRING OF DR. SHRIRAM BAGRODIA
Cereplast, Inc. (OTC BB: CERP), manufacturer of proprietary bio-based renewable plastics, announced today that Dr. Shriram Bagrodia, Ph.D will be joining the company as Senior Vice President, Director of Research and Development - Blends and Chemistry.  With more than 30 years of experience in polymer science and research, Dr. Bagrodia will further strengthen the growing R&D team at Cereplast by leading the development of new resin formulas.

Dr. Bagrodia’s main focus will be on improving blends and polymeric compounds to introduce new families of bio-based resin. Compounding chemical culture with agricultural feedstock is the main focus of Cereplast. Cereplast delivers resins with very high bio-based content and comparable properties to their traditional petroleum based counterparts at a competitive price.

Prior to joining Cereplast, Dr. Bagrodia was principal research engineer at Eastman Chemical Company where he directed multi-functional programs involving research, market development and new business groups.  In his position he received 53 U.S. Patents in barrier packaging, nanocomposites, novel fiber products, processes and polymer blends. 

Dr. Bagrodia holds a Ph.D in Chemical Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and a Masters of Science in Chemical Engineering from Princeton University.
