Cereplast Compostables®

Cereplast Compostables®

Cereplast creates compostable bioplastic resin pellets from renewable resources.

Manufacturers use the plastic pellets to make packaging and single use consumer products.

Products are 100% compostable, breaking down in 180 days or less in industrial compost facilities.

Cereplast Compostables resins are made from renewable resources and are ecologically sound substitutes for fossil fuel-based plastics, replacing up to 100% of the petroleum-based additives used in traditional plastics. The resins are starch-based and gluten-free, made from corn, tapioca and potato starches that primarily come from the American Midwest (versus oil from the Middle East). Cereplast Compostables resins are used for single-use disposables and packaging including cups, straws, cutlery, and bags.

Cereplast Compostables resins are biodegradable by industrial composting in the United States and in Europe meeting the ASTM D6400 or EN 13432 standards for compostability. Many grades have BPI and/or DIN Certco certification.
