Certifications

Cereplast Compostables® resins are biodegradable and compostable in the United States and Europe meeting the ASTM D6400 or EN 13432 standards for compostability. Many grades have BPI and/or DIN Certco certification.

Several Cereplast products have undergone Beta Analytic testing to gain ASTM D6866 certification, which measures the biobased content of bioplastics. This certification is required by the USDA BioPreferred Program and other eco-label programs.

The USDA BioPreferred Program promotes the increased purchase and use of biobased products.  The USDA BioPreferred label, launched in February 2011, assures consumers that a product or package contains a verified amount of renewable biological ingredients, as confirmed by third party testing and certification under ASTM D6866.
